We make the kitchen pieces we wished we could buy.
Upholsteriour started in a small workshop outside of Asheville, North Carolina, with a single kitchen island built for a friend. It took twelve weeks. The wood came from a fallen oak two towns over. The brass pulls were hand-forged. When it was done, we realized we'd built the kind of piece almost no one was making anymore — slow, honest, meant to last.
Today we're still small, still stubborn about materials, and still shipping every piece from the same workshop. We work primarily in solid American hardwoods — white oak, walnut, maple, ash — and finish everything by hand with food-safe oils and natural waxes.
We back every piece with a lifetime structural guarantee. Wood will move, finishes will deepen, and the piece will keep doing its job — for you, your kids, and probably theirs.
